The only son and namesake of former President Magsaysay, Ramon Magsaysay Jr. pioneered the Philippines’ cable television industry. He is an advocate of agricultural development and modernization, and was a vital proponent of the Young Farmers Program, which granted P30 million to young entrepreneurs in agriculture. As a congressman and senator, he also helped to pass landmark laws such as the E-Commerce Act, the Magna Carta for Small and Medium Enterprises. and the Anti-Money Laundering Act. He is still actively engaged in public service through non-government organizations, and serves on the board of several business and educational institutions.
